To find out more about Mac and Clem, click on the picture to the right for the website post!

Also, a plea to Phoenix/Tempe-area folks -- if your friends are in town for the week, what would you recommend that they do?  We're talking more for weekends and nights as I'll be there on business with a large group.  Good restaurants?  Games?  Dim sum?  Anything?  Thanks!

Note: in the Phoenix Metro area, we all give directions in intersections because the area is laid out like a grid.

The best sushi bar in the Valley is Sekai in Mesa, on Gilbert and Southern. Kobe, in Tempe on Hardy and Elliot is pretty good too. If you want Italian, Riazzi's on Mill and Alameda (between Broadway and Southern) in Tempe is AMAZING. Downtown Tempe on Mill Ave is fun, with lots of good restaurants and shops. The restaurants there are mainly chains, but Rula Bula is a really good Irish pub.

Gameworks at AZ Mills mall is a big arcade. It's pretty fun. Golfland, in Mesa, is a better arcade, with minigolf! And waterslides, but it's too cold out for them.

a chinese restraunt called FATE in downtown phoenix is EXCELLENT.

like machine girl said, mill avenue is a good place to go because there are a lot of bars, restraunts, and shops. but it is mostly chains

downtown (old) scottsdale is a good place to go too because they have a lot of western art galleries (some of the best in the world) and great shopping at fashion square mall.

the arizona biltmore is also worth going to just to see if you like frank llyod wright.

Add another vote for Kobe! I adore that place!

Oh, and SQUEEE for Rula Bula. Definitely my favorite place ever! They always have the best music, and it's the only place I've found with Cider that I like.

If you're going to be in town around the last weekend in February, you may want to check out the Phoenix Matsuri. There's also the Japanese Friendship Garden - Ro Ho En. Hrmmm... what else... Hiking is always great around this time of the year, but be sure to bring plenty of water. A good site that shows some of the AZ trails is: www.hikearizona.com. You could also spend a day at Saguro Lake. They also have a little restaurant on the lake (friends say that it's pretty nice although I've personally never eaten there). If you like high end shopping or people watching at an outdoor mall, there's always Kierland. Old town Scottsdale has a lot of tourist-y shops along with a lot of really nice clubs and bars. That's all I can think of right now... Hope that helps some.
